By registering for From Idea to Publication: The Children’s Book Course, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Registration
Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment.
Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Wanda World reserves the right to decline or cancel registrations where necessary.
2. Payment
Full payment is required to secure your place.
Registration will not be confirmed until payment has been received and verified.
All fees are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR).
3. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations made more than 14 calendar days before the course commencement date will be eligible for a 50% refund of the course fee.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made 14 calendar days or less before the course commencement date, or once the course has commenced.
Participants who are unable to attend may transfer their registration to another person, provided Wanda World receives written notice at least 48 hours before the course begins.
Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 14 business days of the approved cancellation request.
4. Course Changes
Wanda World reserves the right to:
amend the course content or schedule;
substitute facilitators where necessary;
change dates or times due to unforeseen circumstances; or
postpone or cancel the course if minimum enrolment numbers are not met or circumstances beyond our control arise.
Should Wanda World cancel the course, participants will be offered either a full refund or the option to transfer their registration to the next available course.
5. Attendance
Participants are responsible for attending scheduled sessions and ensuring they have access to a stable internet connection and a suitable device for online learning.
6. Intellectual Property
All course materials, presentations, templates, recordings, workbooks and other learning resources remain the intellectual property of Wanda World unless otherwise stated.
These materials are provided solely for the personal educational use of registered participants and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, published, sold or shared without the prior written consent of Wanda World.
7. Copyright Notice
Participants retain full ownership and copyright of the original stories, manuscripts, characters and creative works they develop during the course.
Wanda World respects the intellectual property rights of all participants and does not claim ownership of any participant’s original work.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that any content they submit or develop does not infringe the intellectual property rights of others. Wanda World encourages participants to take appropriate steps to protect their original works, including maintaining dated drafts, seeking professional advice where appropriate, and registering copyright where applicable. Any feedback provided by Wanda World or course facilitators does not transfer ownership or create any rights in the participant’s work.
8. Recording of Sessions
Live sessions may be recorded for educational and quality assurance purposes. By participating, you consent to the recording of live sessions.
Recordings remain the property of Wanda World and may not be reproduced, shared or distributed by participants without prior written permission.
9. Code of Conduct
Wanda World is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive and collaborative learning environment.
Participants are expected to:
Treat facilitators and fellow participants with courtesy and respect.
Contribute positively to discussions and activities.
Refrain from disruptive, discriminatory, abusive or inappropriate behaviour.
Wanda World reserves the right to remove any participant whose conduct negatively affects the learning environment. In such cases, no refund will be provided.
10. Limitation of Liability
While Wanda World is committed to providing a high-quality learning experience, participation in this course does not guarantee publication, representation, commercial success or the securing of a publishing contract.
11. Privacy
Personal information collected during registration will be used solely for course administration, communication and related educational purposes and will be processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), 2013.
12. Acceptance
By registering for the course and making payment, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
