YanoPedia Event Terms and Conditions
Definitions
1. "Event" refers to ‘A YanoPedia Carnival: YanosPlayGround’ scheduled to take place on 2 August 2025.
2. "Organisers" refers to YanoPedia (PTY) LTD and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and volunteers.
3. "Participants" refers to individuals attending the Event, including but not limited to ticket holders, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors.
4. "Terms and Conditions" refers to these terms and conditions governing participation in the Event.

• Event Name: ‘A YanoPedia Carnival: YanosPlayGround’
• Event Date: 2 August 2025
• Event Venue: African Beer Emporium
Participation and Risk
1. By attending the YanoPedia Event, participants acknowledge that they do so at their own risk.
2. YanoPedia (PTY) LTD and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and volunteers (collectively, "the Organisers") will not be held responsible for any damage, loss, or injury (including death) sustained by participants or their property during the event.
3. Participants release and indemnify the Organisers from any claims, demands, or liabilities arising from or related to their participation in the event.
Photography and Promotional Content
1. By attending the YanoPedia Event, participants consent to being photographed, videotaped, or recorded (collectively, "captured") by the Organisers or their authorised representatives.
2. Participants grant the Organisers permission to use their captured likeness, image, voice, and/or statements in promotional content, including but not limited to social media, advertising, and marketing materials.
3. This consent is given in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI Act) of South Africa, and participants understand that their personal information will be processed in accordance with the Organisers' privacy policy.
POPI Act Compliance
1. The Organisers are committed to protecting participants' personal information in accordance with the POPI Act.
2. Participants' personal information will be collected, stored, and processed for the purposes of event management, marketing, and promotional activities.
3. Participants may request access to their personal information or request correction/deletion of their information by contacting the Organisers.
Intellectual Property
1. All intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyright, trademarks, and trade secrets, remain the property of their respective owners.
2. Participants may not reproduce, distribute, or exploit any intellectual property without prior written consent from the owner.
Conduct and Behaviour
1. Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and safe manner during the event.
2. The Organisers reserve the right to remove or eject any participant who engages in unacceptable behaviour, including but not limited to harassment, disruption, or violence.
Cancellation or Postponement
1. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event due to unforeseen circumstances.
2. In the event of cancellation or postponement, participants will be notified as soon as reasonably possible.
Limitation of Liability
1. In no event will the Organisers, their officers, employees, agents, and affiliates be liable for any damages, claims, or losses arising from or related to the YanoPedia Event.
2. This limitation of liability includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct or indirect damages
- Special or consequential damages
- Loss of profits or revenue
- Loss of data or business opportunities
- Damage to property or injury to persons
3.The Organisers will not be liable for claims arising from:
- Negligence or breach of contract
- Strict liability or vicarious liability
- Breach of statutory duty or fiduciary duty
- Any other type of claim or cause of action
4. In the event that the Organisers are found liable for any damages or claims, their liability will be limited to the amount of the event ticket or registration fee.
5. In no event will the Organisers' liability exceed the amount of R 1,000.00 (One Thousand Rand), or any other amount as may be specified by applicable law.
6. The Organisers will not be liable for the acts or omissions of third parties, including but not limited to:
- Other participants
- Speakers or presenters
- Sponsors or exhibitors
- Service providers or contractors
7. This limitation of liability will survive any termination or expiration of these Terms and Conditions.
Governing Law
1. These Terms and Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa.
2. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms and Conditions will be resolved through the courts of South Africa.
Entire Agreement
1. These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the participants and the Organisers.
2. By attending the YanoPedia Event, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
Acceptance
By attending the YanoPedia Event, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, please do not attend the event.
