The Stories We See

We invite you to join us for a thrilling and inspiring event, The Stories We See, where abled youth from The Joburg Child Welfare and visually impaired youth from The Johannesburg Society for The Blind come together to use sound to communicate with each other. Through choreography, they will explore different environments and create a sense of togetherness and inclusivity.

This performance is dedicated to the late Bigboy Ndlovu, who put his love and passion for the art into this production. It is also based on the story of Peter Mabote, who said, “I do not want to go back to seeing. I have technics to navigate the world and I am teaching myself how to do things. If I see I again, I will go back to 2005, when I used to see, then I would be left behind because I have learnt so much in my blindness and must start as a person who sees again.”
