We are Excited to announce that the 9th edition of 2026 Soweto Kota Festival is happening on the 5th and 6th of September 2026 This year we are hosting this multi award winning event at the popular Elkah Cricket Oval in Rockville. Our followers have been asking for Elkah for the past few years. It's going to be fun and delicious, so bring your whole family. We are coming back home this year.
The 9th annual Soweto Kota Festival will also be celebrating 50 years of June 16 and the youth struggle of Sowetan.
This year our fans should expect over 50 Kota outlets from all over Gauteng who will be ready to serve you with Kotas that went to the most expensive private schools. There will be fun activities for everyone, and alcohol and snacks will be reasonable inside. There will be bigger and better kids' entertainment with activities like, Jumping Castle, Face Painting, Digital Games and more. There will be great performances from top South African artists, top DJs including lots of prizes to be giveaways. Early Bird Tickets only cost R130 for adults and R80 for Kids between 3 years and 13 years old. Kids under 3 years will enter Mahala. We also offer discounted family packages.

Refund policy
Following receipt of your booking cancellation or returned tickets, we will refund you the face value paid for the relevant tickets (or, if a discounted ticket, then instead the discounted ticket price paid), provided that reasonable cancellation charges as determined by the Event Organiser may be charged and deducted from such refund. Unless otherwise stipulated by the Event Organiser and depending on the prevailing circumstances the following cancellation charges may apply: - If the cancellation occurs more than 30 days prior to the event a 15% cancellation fee will apply; - If the cancellation occurs less than 30 but more than 7 days prior to the event a 50% cancellation fee will apply; - If the cancellation occurs less than 7 days prior to the event a 100% cancellation fee will apply; - Notwithstanding the aforesaid, if you can provide us with suitable documentary proof that a person in whose name a ticket was booked will not be able to attend the event because of his/her death and/or hospitalization, no cancellation fee will apply in respect of the cancellation of such person's ticket.
