Me and Mommy (Mother and Child)

Mommies are the centre that holds the family system together and their contribution to raising a child is limitless. This project aims to celebrate motherhood, strengthen the bond between me and mommy, and learn parental tips.

 The project targets mothers and children of ages between 04-16 years. Mothers are any female playing a caregiver role in the child’s life being a biological mother, stepmother, grandmother, aunt, sister or neighbour.

  The project will take place through a planned series of outdoor learning activities model called Adventure Based Learning (ABL). All ABL activities will be facilitated by either a social worker, occupational therapist or psychologist followed by entertainment activities such as colour-hiking and inflatable structures (e.g. jumping castles) and a fun competition between me and mommy on African Indigenous games.

 Furthermore, a mommy-to-mommy health and wellness talk will take place to discuss and share tips on balancing parenting with one’s life.
