It gives us great pleasure in extending to you a very warm invitation to attend the Conference to be held in eShowe, KwaZulu Natal on the 10th of October 2022. The conference is well organised to be unique and informative to uplift women in South Africa after tough times faced by the country. Theme of the event and why we have chosen to use that “empowering women entrepreneurially” Hence the programme will have some of these highlights: Covid 19 Impact The COVID-19 has highlighted and exacerbated inequities and serves as a reminder of how unstable and unsustainable the global economy and democracies are. The issue also serves as a warning about what is imminently affecting environmental deterioration and climate change. Due to this, there is now both a need and an opportunity to reconsider economic and social policies and determine what needs to be given higher priority. Some of the issues that will be discussed include:
o Economic downfall o Increase in gender-based violence during lockdown The effect of KZN floods As an organisation that works primary in KwaZulu-Natal, a province that recently faced, days of heavy rain across province leading to deadly floods. In April 2022, days of heavy rain across KwaZulu-Natal in southeastern South Africa led to deadly floods. Particularly hard-hit were areas in and around Durban. At least 435 people
died across the province, with an unknown number of people missing as of April 22. Several thousand homes were damaged or destroyed. The floods have caused more than R17 billion) in infrastructure damage. A national state of disaster was declared.
o How do we rebuild sustainably? o Collective effort to combat poverty Opportunities for Women In the current economy o Role of women in agriculture o Companies willing to sponsor women empowerment
We shall be showcasing projects that we have done for the community and companies that have sponsored those projects. We are proud to have delivered over 1000 school shoes to 55 schools around eShowe. This isinline with our mission to bring about change in rural areas especially for women. There will be over 10 distinguished speakers and a round table meeting discussions with industry experts. And all publications of the conference will be made available immediately to those needing it.
