Section 1: Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of spectator tickets for the IDO African Championship - Battle of the Giants 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the "Event") through the CompuTicket platform. By purchasing a ticket, the spectator agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The Event, officially named the IDO African Championship - Battle of the Giants from 2025, is scheduled to take place from 29 June to 3 July 2025 at the Superbowl, Sun City Resort in the North West Province of South Africa. These Terms and Conditions are in addition to any terms and conditions stipulated by CompuTicket, which govern the use of their platform and the ticket purchasing process.
The IDO African Championship - Battle of the Giants 2025 is an international dance competition organized under the auspices of the International Dance Organization (IDO). This prestigious event serves as a platform for dancers from African nations and across the globe to showcase their talent in a variety of disciplines. The competition encompasses a wide spectrum of dance styles, categorized under three main sections: Performing Arts, Street Dance, and Disco Dance. The event is hosted at the renowned Sun City Superbowl, a premier entertainment venue in Africa, providing a fitting stage for this significant dance championship.
These Terms and Conditions aim to establish a framework that ensures a positive and respectful environment for all attendees.
Section 2: Ticket Purchase and Validity
Spectator tickets for the IDO African Championship - Battle of the Giants 2025 are exclusively available for purchase through the official CompuTicket website or other authorized CompuTicket sales channels, as may be announced by the event organizers. The process of purchasing tickets typically involves visiting the CompuTicket platform, selecting the desired ticket type (which may include options for single-day entry or access to the entire event), specifying the number of tickets required, providing accurate personal details as requested, and completing the payment process using one of the accepted methods. Upon successful completion of the purchase, a confirmation, usually in the form of an electronic ticket or booking reference, will be issued to the purchaser. CompuTicket acts as an agent for the event organizers in facilitating the sale and distribution of these tickets.
Each valid ticket permits one person entry to the Event on the specific date(s) and time(s) indicated on the ticket. It is important to note that tickets are only considered valid if they have been purchased through authorized CompuTicket channels and have not been tampered with, duplicated, or obtained from unauthorized sources. Spectators are advised to retain their tickets in a secure location and to present them for verification upon entry to the Sun City Superbowl. Damaged, defaced, or copied tickets may be rejected at the entrance, and the holder may be refused admission without any entitlement to a refund. The event organizers reserve the right to implement age restrictions for certain sections or at certain times, and any such restrictions will be clearly communicated on the CompuTicket platform during the ticket purchasing process.
To prevent fraud and ensure fair access to tickets, the resale of spectator tickets for commercial gain without the express written permission of the event organizers is strictly prohibited. This restriction aims to protect genuine spectators from inflated prices and potentially invalid tickets offered through unofficial channels. While the possibility of official ticket transfers under specific conditions (e.g., through a designated platform) may be considered, the general policy is that tickets are for the personal use of the original purchaser and should not be resold for profit.
Section 3: Pricing and Payment
The prices for spectator tickets for the IDO African Championship - Battle of the Giants 2025 will be as displayed on the official CompuTicket platform at the time of purchase. These prices may vary depending on the type of ticket, such as single-day passes or full event access, and potentially based on seating arrangements or other categories. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the ticket prices displayed are inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) and any other applicable taxes. It is important for purchasers to carefully review the pricing details on the CompuTicket platform to understand the total cost, including any additional fees that may be applied during the purchase process.
In addition to the base ticket price, there may be supplementary charges such as booking fees or service fees levied by CompuTicket for using their ticketing services. If physical tickets are offered (though electronic tickets are more common), delivery fees might also apply. The breakdown of all applicable fees will be clearly presented to the purchaser before the completion of the transaction on the CompuTicket platform. Payment for tickets must be made in full using one of the accepted payment methods specified by CompuTicket. These typically include major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), debit cards, and potentially other online payment gateways or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). A ticket purchase is only considered complete and valid once full payment has been received and verified. Purchasers should refer to CompuTicket's terms and conditions for detailed information regarding payment processing, the security of their payment details, and any transaction limits that may be in place.
All ticket prices displayed on the CompuTicket platform will be in South African Rand (ZAR), as the Event is taking place in South Africa. For spectators who are purchasing tickets from outside of South Africa, it is essential to be aware that currency exchange rates will apply, and their bank or payment provider may levy additional fees for international transactions. The event organizers and CompuTicket are not responsible for these additional charges or for fluctuations in currency exchange rates.
Section 4: Cancellations, Refunds, and Exchanges
The event organizers reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or make significant alterations to the IDO African Championship - Battle of the Giants 2025, including changes to the dates, times, venue, or program, due to unforeseen circumstances, which may include force majeure events as defined in Section 11. In the event of a cancellation, postponement, or significant change, the event organizers will endeavor to notify ticket holders as soon as reasonably practicable. Notification will typically be made via email to the address provided during the ticket purchase process and through updates posted on the official event website and the CompuTicket platform.
In the case of a complete cancellation of the Event by the organizers, ticket holders will generally be entitled to a refund of the face value of their tickets. The policy regarding the refund of any booking fees or service charges levied by CompuTicket will be determined by CompuTicket's terms and conditions. Spectators should note their rights under the Consumer Protection Act, which allows for the cancellation of advance bookings. If a spectator chooses to cancel their ticket purchase for reasons other than the event being cancelled or significantly postponed, they may be subject to reasonable cancellation penalties, the scale of which will be determined by the event organizers and CompuTicket and will be communicated at the time of purchase or in these Terms and Conditions. These penalties will be structured to comply with the CPA's requirements for reasonableness. Refunds, when applicable, will be processed within a reasonable timeframe after the cancellation or the approval of a refund request, typically via the original method of payment.
Section 5: Conditions of Entry and Conduct
The event organizers and the venue, Sun City Superbowl, reserve the right to refuse admission to any person or to eject them from the premises without refund if they fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions, any rules and regulations of the venue, or if their conduct is deemed disruptive, offensive, illegal, or likely to endanger the safety or enjoyment of other attendees.
For the safety and security of all attendees, security checks, which may include the inspection of bags and personal searches, may be conducted upon entry to the venue. Any person who refuses to consent to such security checks may be denied entry without a refund.
The following items are strictly prohibited from being brought into the venue: weapons of any kind, including firearms and knives; illegal substances, including drugs and narcotics; outside food and beverages (unless specifically permitted for medical reasons with supporting documentation); glass bottles, cans, or other containers that could pose a risk; fireworks, flares, or other pyrotechnic devices; professional audio or video recording equipment (unless expressly authorized by the event organizers in writing); laser pointers; and any other items deemed by the event organizers or venue security to be dangerous or disruptive.

Any behavior that is disruptive, offensive, discriminatory, or that interferes with other spectators' enjoyment of the Event is strictly prohibited. Spectators must comply with all instructions and directions given by venue staff and security personnel. Engaging in any illegal activities is, of course, forbidden. During performances, spectators are expected to maintain a reasonable noise level and refrain from excessive shouting or other disturbances. Specific rules regarding photography and recording during the Event are outlined in Section 7. Any spectator found to be in violation of these conditions of entry and conduct may be refused entry or ejected from the venue without a refund of their ticket price. The event organizers and venue reserve the right to take any further appropriate action, including involving law enforcement if necessary.
Section 6: Limitation of Liability and Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, neither the event organizers (including their affiliates, employees, and agents) nor CompuTicket shall be liable for any loss, damage, injury (including death), or illness suffered by any ticket holder before, during, or after the IDO African Championship - Battle of the Giants 2025, regardless of the cause. This exclusion of liability includes, but is not limited to, incidents such as accidents, theft, or damage to personal property. However, this limitation does not apply to liability arising from the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the event organizers or CompuTicket, nor does it exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by their negligence, as such exclusions are not permissible under South African law. The event organizers and CompuTicket explicitly state that they are not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of any personal belongings brought to the venue by spectators.
By purchasing a ticket and attending the Event, spectators voluntarily acknowledge and assume all risks and dangers associated with event attendance. These risks include, but are not limited to, those arising from crowds, loud noise levels, and potential exposure to illness.
The event organizers and CompuTicket provide the tickets and the Event on an "as is" basis and make no warranties or representations, express or implied, regarding the Event, its content, or the spectator experience, except as expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions.

By attending the Event, each spectator grants the event organizers and their authorized representatives the right to photograph, film, and record their image and likeness during the Event and to use such materials for promotional, marketing, or other commercial purposes without any further consent or compensation.
The copyright, trademarks, and all other intellectual property rights in and to the Event, including but not limited to the performances, choreography, music, stage designs, and event materials, are the exclusive property of the event organizers, the International Dance Organization (IDO), and/or the respective rights holders, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

The event organizers shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing their obligations under these Terms and Conditions if such failure or delay is directly or indirectly caused by or results from a force majeure event. In the event that a force majeure event necessitates the cancellation or postponement of the Event, the policy regarding refunds, exchanges, or the possibility of a rescheduled event will be determined based on the specific circumstances. While a full refund may not always be guaranteed in such situations , the event organizers will communicate their approach to affected ticket holders as transparently and promptly as possible, consistent with the principles outlined in Section 4. The definition of force majeure aims to be comprehensive while adhering to legal interpretations, distinguishing between truly unavoidable events and those within reasonable control.
Section 12: General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by any court or other competent authority to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed to be severed from these Terms and Conditions, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
