Helderberg District High Schools Snooker Club Competition – Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: June 7, 2025 – June 28, 2025
1. General Overview
The Helderberg District High Schools Snooker Club Competition (“Competition”) is organized to encourage sportsmanship, skill development, and friendly competition among high school students. By participating, players agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Eligibility
Open to high school students aged 13 to 19 years old. Participants must be enrolled in a recognized high school. Each school may register a maximum of two teams who will represent two categories Juniors and Seniors. Players must have parental/guardian consent to participate.
3. Registration
Registration opens on 10 April, 2025, and closes on June 1, 2025. A registration fee (if applicable) must be paid before the deadline. Schools must submit team/player details, including names, ages, and student IDs.
4. Competition Format
The competition will be held from June 7, 2025, to June 28, 2025. Matches will follow a knockout format, with winners progressing to the next round. Games will be played under World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) rules. The final match will be held on June 28, 2025.
5. Match Rules
Players must arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled match. A referee’s decision is final. Any form of cheating, misconduct, or unsportsmanlike behavior will result in disqualification. Proper snooker attire (smart casual) is required.
6. Prizes & Awards
Winner: Trophy, medals, and cash prize (if applicable). Runner-up: Medals and a certificate of achievement. Best Player Award: Based on performance throughout the competition.
7. Code of Conduct
Respect referees, opponents, and event staff. No foul language, aggressive behavior, or equipment damage. Schools will be held responsible for their students' behavior.
8. Health & Safety
Players participate at their own risk. First aid will be available at the venue. Any medical conditions must be disclosed upon registration.
9. Media & Publicity
By participating, players consent to photography and videography for promotional purposes. Schools must notify organizers if a player does not wish to be photographed.
10. Disqualification & Disputes
The organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify players or teams violating these terms. Any disputes must be raised immediately to the event coordinator, whose decision is final.
11. Amendments & Cancellation
The organizers reserve the right to modify the schedule, rules, or format if necessary. The competition may be postponed or canceled in cases of unforeseen circumstances.
