Join the Changing Attitude Movement on National Women's Day, Friday, August 9, 2025, at the June 16 Memorial Acre Hall for "Women Together" – a vital event dedicated to addressing the pervasive rates of rape, domestic violence, femicide, and sodomy in our community.
As a survivor and author of "Surviving the Den of Rapists," our founder understands the profound impact of these crimes. This event, expecting 200 participants, aims to create a safe and empowering space for healing, education, and collective action.
Event Highlights:
Inspirational Storytelling: Survivors share their powerful journeys in a safe and supportive environment, fostering solidarity.
Policy & Community Discussions: Engage in crucial conversations about systemic change and local solutions to combat gender-based violence (GBV).
Empowering Women & Children with Down Syndrome: Addressing specific challenges and promoting empowerment.
Disability Challenges: Discussing the unique hurdles faced by women living with disabilities.
Health Matters: Insights into mental and physical well-being.
Our goal is to provide a platform where women can openly share, find collective support, and develop effective strategies to overcome violence and abuse. We believe empowering women is key to breaking cycles of violence and fostering a culture of equality and respect in Soweto.
Your presence will significantly contribute to the success of this critical gathering and the lasting empowerment and safety of women in our community.
