Big Bad Sound System, Giggs Pro Sound System, and Kebra Ethiopia Sound System will each bring their own handcrafted speaker boxes, selectors, and amplifiers to deliver strictly conscious selections with positive vibrations.

This is more than just a dance, it’s a celebration of resilience, unity, and the deep culture of sound system.

Big Bad Sound System hails from Jabavu, Soweto, and has been powering reggae events across South Africa for over 25 years. A true elder in the field, Big Bad has kept reggae music alive and thriving, carrying the culture with consistency and respect, commanding recognition wherever they play.

Giggs Pro Sound System from Katlehong, are a dynamic duo of siblings known for their high-energy performances. After winning a major sound system competition in 2010 hosted by Cutting Edge Sound, they built up their own sound and have since become respected warriors of conscious reggae, bringing excitement and fresh energy to every session.

Kebra Ethiopia Sound System, pioneers of the culture and widely regarded as one of the most respected sound systems not only in South Africa but in the world, makes a deeply meaningful return. After a period of illness and personal struggle, they had announced their closure. Their legacy stands tall: decades of dedication to spreading spiritual roots reggae with authenticity, humility, and powerful word sound. This marks their first dance since returning to the arena, carrying forward their mission.

This sound meeting will rotate control of the session among the three sounds, respecting each style and sharing the mic in the true tradition of roots culture. Expect deep dubplates, live toasting, spiritual roots selections, and earth shaking basslines built to move the people’s hearts and minds.
