Abbey Magula, affectionately known as Kruga, is an Eastern Cape legend in the world of music. Born in Mdantsane and later moving to Duncan Village, Abbey’s musical journey began in local bands across East London and Mdantsane.
He rose to prominence when he joined the iconic band Black Slave, touring South Africa, Namibia, and beyond. Upon his return, he played with Aubrey Manuel, traveling through the Eastern Cape, Johannesburg, George, and other cities.
As a member of Urban Connection for over 31 years, Abbey has made a lasting impact, earning 4th place in the Thokoza Radio Metro competition and receiving a guitar from the legendary Jimmy Dludlu, who recognised his exceptional talent.
