Tierra Flamenca Dance Studio presents Alegria, a celebration of Spanish flamenco dance and music. Student dancers at Tierra Flamenca Dance Studio will be showcasing what they have learnt over the last couple of years during the Covid-19 pandemic, lockdown, and once in-person classes resumed. The pandemic allowed dancers time for introspection, a means to process their feelings and emotions about the world around them. Once they were back at class, there was a longing for connection, celebration and togetherness. That is exactly what Alegria is: an acknowledgement of the loss experienced, the pain caused by the pandemic, and the isolation of lockdown. More importantly, Alegria, meaning joy, is a celebration of coming together again, of being together again, of a shared passion reignited, of dancing again. The performance, directed by the studio owner and artistic director, Che Adams, will features dancers of all levels, from beginner to professional, performing solos and group dances in pure flamenco palos - from joyous Alegrias, to solemn Siguiriyas. It will be a fun and memorable audience for the whole family to enjoy!
