3rd Mbokodo Publishers Indigenous Literary Awards

3RD ANNUAL MBOKODO PUBLISHERS INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES LITERARY AWARDS 2026

Mbokodo Publishers cordially invites you to an extraordinary celebration of African literature, language, creativity and publishing excellence.

On 21 November 2026, we will gather at The Gardens Mbombela to celebrate the remarkable achievements of 29 authors who participated in the Mbokodo Publishers Literary Development Programme.

Through this programme, emerging writers from different provinces of South Africa were supported, mentored and developed to transform their ideas and stories into published works. Together, these writers have produced 29 books across four languages: English, Siswati, isiNdebele and Xitsonga, showcasing the richness and diversity of South African voices.

This special occasion is more than an awards ceremony. It is a celebration of stories that might otherwise have remained untold, languages that deserve to be preserved and promoted, and writers who have taken their place in South Africa's literary landscape.

JOIN US AS WE:

• Recognise and celebrate 29 participating authors and their literary achievements.

• Celebrate the publication of 29 books developed through the language development programme.
