Join us for an original overnight camping experience.
About this event
This fund-raising event invites members of the public to camp overnight on the grounds of the Naval Hill Planetarium. Under the watchful eye of BloemSec Security Services, participants will be allowed to pitch tents and place their bush trailers from 13:00 on Sunday, 16 June until 09:00 on Monday, 17 June 2024 on demarcated areas identified at the NHP. Eight toilet facilities (no showers) will be available for the evening, all based in the buildings of the NHP. This will truly be an original camping experience! No campsite power points will be available, so participants are responsible for their own flashlights. In celebration of Youth and Father’s Day (on the same day!) we are planning to host several activities, which will be included in your ticket purchase. These currently include:
· A show inside the Naval Hill Planetarium Dome
· Educational children’s activities to learn more about stars and planets
· Talks and demonstrations facilitated by astrophysicists and zoologists
